It seems I have no influence on other people. God reminds me that whatever I do I must do for an audience of One- to influence One. But then would all the effort be worth it if it had no influence on other people? Is He worth it? Is He worth being the only One I influence? Need I ask? My influence in this life may never be any more than the pleasure I give to God. I may give Him pleasure in obediently, lovingly, serving Him in the smallest of ways.
Can there be a greater influence than giving pleasure and joy to the infinite God? Never! In comparison to Him, nothing else matters!
So, take pleasure- my King- in what You work in me. Do so, Lord. What do You ask of me at this moment? What do You command of this child? You ask me if I will give You all of myself? Yes Lord, I give You all of my very self.
